Game Over (Gamer Girls #7) - Kitty Cox Page 0,99

war room."

"So no waking them up to get in?" Zara asked. "It's like Ice thought all of this out."

"I know," Rhaven agreed just as the three men stepped up to hand over their driver's licenses.

Except Jason. He passed over his FBI badge. The woman's eyes widened and jumped up to him. "Sir?"

"Need a license too?" he asked.

"No, sir." She glanced over at Psyc and Braden, then started typing again. "I'm just hoping that me putting the other agent on the other end of the hall isn't a problem."

"Trust me," Jason said, "he'd rather be there. Oh, and put him beside Samir Arheez, would ya? Jeff can go on the other side. Jeff Hallen, not Andrews."

"I'll make a note of it, sir," she agreed, typing furiously. Then she turned, grabbed a collection of cards, and began handing them out. "Two for the Honeymoon Suite." She passed those to Jason and Zara. "Three for the Regent's Suite." Those went to Braden, Psyc, and Rhaven. "Enjoy your stay at the Luxx."

Psyc tapped Braden's chest. "Let's get our stuff stored and see if there's alcohol flowing yet."

"Sounds like a plan," Braden agreed. "Rhave? We should let those two have a celebratory fuck or something."

Jason just laughed. "Be careful with that finger pointing, you three. And don't worry, I'll make it clear that all the other rooms were taken."

"You're a good man, Cynister," Psyc told him. "A very good one."

Then he offered his arm to Rhaven. "Shall we?"

Chapter 34

Psyc was doing his best to play it cool as the elevator slowly but surely made its way up to the forty-sixth floor. Jason and Braden talked about how Dez had taken the news that they'd caught the wrong guy - which was surprisingly well. It hadn't felt real to her to begin with, so a setback was nothing. She was currently hanging onto the fact that so many people cared enough to do something about this, and not that they'd made a mistake.

But the feel of Rhaven's fingers on his arm made Psyc's pulse race. He really hadn't meant to kiss her. Fuck, he'd thought about it so many times, and then it had just happened. Sure, those fantasies had usually been with his dick in his hand, but that was beside the point. He'd kissed her, so Braden should've beaten the shit out of him.

That was what Psyc would do if the situation was reversed.

Granted, beating the shit out of Braden was basically impossible. Psyc had heard all about the man jumping into a brawl with six others to protect Rhaven. Braden also hadn't lost, not even with those odds. Yeah, he'd gotten a little help, but still! And the fact that he hadn't hesitated? Psyc had promised himself that he'd back off and be happy for Rhaven. He'd be a damned good friend, get over her, and move on to some gamer groupie next weekend.

Yet the moment he'd felt her in his arms, he'd let that secret fantasy play out and had simply kissed her. No thought. No planning. It had just happened, and now he'd agreed to share a suite with them for an entire fucking week. Yep, this was going to backfire. Badly. The problem was that he had no idea how to stop it.

Eventually, they all reached the top floor. A sign pointed them toward the room numbers that were also printed on their keys. Jason and Zara headed to the right. Psyc led Braden and Rhaven to the left. It was a damned long hall, but there weren't that many doors on it, which meant the rooms inside were going to be massive. Sure enough, when Psyc found room 4602, he stepped inside to find it amazingly spacious.

There was a full bar, a real kitchen area, a spacious living room, plus a den-type area. Then there was the dining room table. Even if it was small, it was still clearly a dining room. In other words, this place was basically a completely furnished apartment!

"Whoa," Psyc breathed. "I've been in some nice places, but this? Takes the cake."

"Thought you made a crap-ton of money from gaming," Braden said.

Psyc stopped in the middle of the room. "Three quarters of a million a year doesn't go as far as you think. Half gets saved for when I can't aim anymore, and I got some student loans to pay off, plus I live in California, bro. Not cheap."

"Good point," Braden said as he turned to Rhaven. "Hey, which of these rooms do you want?"
