Game Over (Gamer Girls #7) - Kitty Cox Page 0,25

Sunday? Someone was going to die if she got out of bed. Needless to say, she didn't. Riley simply rolled the other way and snuggled up with her man - until something very cold pressed into her armpit and weight crashed down on her legs.

"Quake!" she growled, trying to push the oversized mongrel off of her.

That was the wrong approach, though. Quake decided that counted as attention, so he flopped into the microscopic space between her and Logan, then wiggled his way closer. Sucking in a breath, Logan turned, only to get a puppy paw right in the nuts.

"Damn it, dog," he groaned, pushing the mutt's shoulder. "Off!"

Quake stopped squirming and started whining instead. Logan just sighed, then wrapped his arm around the dog's neck. That was more than Riley could take. Throwing off the blankets, she made her way across the room to find some clothes. Down in the basement, there wasn't much light - only what came from the two tiny windows above ground level - but it was enough.

"You know he's spoiled," she told Logan.

The man just rolled onto his back, pulling the dog with him. "Nah. He's a good boy. Besides, it got you out of bed, so you can let him out."

"Asshole," she grumbled, but it was with a smile. "And sounds like someone's awake in the house."

"We need a bigger house," Logan mumbled.

"Thought you liked having the family close," Riley teased before waving him down. "Knock will move out in the fall. The entire basement will be ours."

"And Murder's." Logan lifted a brow. "Pretty sure he's not going anywhere."

"I know," Riley said as she pulled on a pair of yoga pants. "Kitty is adamant that she's not getting married, but Murder said he's ok with that. He also said something about building a house at the other end of the property."

"Not a bad idea," Logan admitted. "Then Knock can have space when he comes home - and you know he's going to need it."

Riley just wagged her finger toward the game room. "Do you really think that's going to last past college?"

"Sure," Logan said. "Most teens break up because they want another piece, right? He's got a few. She's got a few. They're all happy with it, and they have a shared interest. I think that mess they have is a lot more stable than anyone will give them credit for."

"Huh," Riley said, crooking her finger at him. "You always manage to surprise me, Mr. Weiss."

He grinned. "So, I asked Mike how he felt about changing the signs again."

That caught her off guard. "Huh?"

"Work," he explained. "I think Corwin, Weiss, and Andrews has a good ring to it." Then he grinned. "Dad said he thinks it's a good idea."

"But you're his only son," she countered.

"And Dad has about a million brothers, and most of those have sons to carry on the name. He also understands that Andrews Shires needs a few Andrews." He slid out from under the dog. "Think about it, Riley. I'm not saying I will. I'm saying it's an option, and my boss loves the idea. My father is on board. I also really like our fucked-up little family."

She shoved her head into a shirt, knowing it wasn't hiding her smile. "I wouldn't exactly stop you, but I'm also not going to press."

"Then it's settled," he said. "Name changes are easy in Texas, and I kinda like the idea of my woman wearing the pants in the family, because those are very nice pants."

Riley quickly darted out of the room before he could reach her, knowing there was a slap coming. She made it, and Quake followed, but the computer area was not empty. In fact, the tromping on the stairs had been more teenagers coming over. Well, and Hottie, but he got grouped in with the rest of them, even if he was a few years older.

"Do I want to know?" she asked as she headed to the stairs.

Knock turned around to answer, but then his eyes jumped over her shoulder. "Uh, yeah. Ruin stuff."

"I'll take Quake out," Logan said. "Someone give me the short version when I get back."

The only other woman in the room spun her chair to face Riley. Jericho's pink dreads were the real thing, unlike Riley's neon ones, which had been braided in. In so many ways, the two were a lot alike, which Riley always assumed was part of the reason Knock liked the girl so much. She was everything he wanted, and his
