Game Over (Gamer Girls #7) - Kitty Cox Page 0,178

started walking. The man was slapping his gun against his leg and his mouth was moving, almost as if he was talking. Dez turned, keeping him in her sights, but the other women just pressed back, twisting their bodies to watch him without moving their feet. Suddenly, the man turned and headed right toward the window.

And Jason's heart stalled. That face. Standing in the light, facing right towards the street, Jason had a clear view of the man through his scope - and he knew him. That was the man Braden had jumped at the gamer girl thing at the Eternal Combat booth! He was the guy who'd thrown those panties at Rhaven! He'd been right fucking there, and they'd all missed him.

But he'd thought the guy was just some loser named M1sEr. The same fucker who'd thrown Rhaven's panties and got his ass beat by Braden. The one Riley had caught camping in the corner of the map last year at F5, trying to play the system to advance in the tournament. The same guy who always screamed so loudly in the game lobby chat - because he knew he couldn't get caught. Soul_Reaper had been hiding among them as M1sEr, and if anything, that only made the fucker even more pathetic, but it did explain why Zara was at the top of his kill list. She'd made him look like an idiot in front of his friends. She'd gotten a killstreak on him, and for a man like this, that was crippling.

"Where you at, bro?" Jason asked.

"Third floor," Braden said, puffing a bit. "Not used to aerobics. I lift fucking weights to stay in shape."

"I got a shot," Jason breathed. "I got a fucking shot right now, but I can't take it unless you're ready to push in."

"I'm not there, and we both know there are too many guns in the room," Braden reminded him. "Let it go, Jason. Wait for the play. Not even you can take out five before they take out one."

"Braden," Jason said softly, "it's the guy who threw Rhaven's panties. That's Soul Reaper."

"That asshole," Braden growled. "Moving. Not there, but I will be."

Jason cursed under his breath, watching as Soul_Reaper picked up what looked like a phone. Yes, definitely a phone. Then he carried it over, pushing it in front of each woman's face as he made another lap. His mouth continued to move, proving he was talking. Whether to the women, the men, or someone who'd see the video or live-stream he seemed to be making, Jason didn't know, but he had an idea.

"Bradley, call Knock. There's an active phone in there, likely on wifi from this hotel. I want that video."

"On it," Bradley promised.

"He's got a phone?" Braden asked. "Guys downstairs didn't know that."

"They also don't know the number," Jason explained. "Soul Reaper hasn't exactly given us his name. But if the device is on the wifi, we can get it that way."

"Maybe," Braden said. "If the manufacturers work with you. Doesn't matter. He still wouldn't talk to a ..." He paused to push out a breath. "Woman."

"Where are you?" Jason asked again.

"Almost to the fifth." Braden was breathing hard, proving he wasn't taking his time about this. "Ok. I'm on the floor. God, I fucking hope they don't have anyone in the halls."

"SWAT says it's clear," Jason promised. "They're also moving in below you, ready to do a push if gunshots start happening. They're the backup, so retreat if you have to."

"Not without the girls," Braden said. "If KoG wants to see what it takes to be a real man, then I'll make sure they have one example. Fucking pricks." He panted again. "They still in the same places?"

"Soul Reaper is pacing," Jason told him. "The room is the last one on the north wall. Should be on your left side, since it's the third window. I got the volume up, so from here on out, quiet, Braden. We do not want them to hear you, because I do not have line of sight on the fucking hall."

"Gotcha," Braden breathed.

Clearly he was already in the hall. So, while he crept forward, Jason checked the men one more time. "Warn me before you breach," Jason said. "I will need a few seconds to get my target."

A guy at the side had moved into view. That made three Jason could see. Then Soul_Reaper stepped up into Riley's face. Jason watched as the woman tensed, clearly ready to throw down, but Kate reached
