Game Over (Gamer Girls #7) - Kitty Cox Page 0,167

reassured that he was still loved. Jason stopped to love him, but only for a second. He couldn't stop thinking about Zara. She wouldn't have left their dog alone like this. Not without saying something. That, more than anything else, made his stomach twist in knots, and he knew the one person who could decide if he was crazy or not.

Pulling out his phone, he dialed Bradley. It only took a moment before his partner answered, "Jason?"

"The War Room suite is empty. Crysis is up here alone. The girls are gone."

"Yeah," Bradley breathed. "We have their phones. Looks like Kate managed to use her watch to get off an alert. Adam says it is wifi and LTE-enabled, so if it has cell signal we'll get another update." He paused. "I think Soul Reaper has them, Jason. I think he found a way to get them all. What's next?"

"Bag the phones," Jason ordered. "Get Knock on the case. Tell Adam to message him. This comes first. Find them, Bradley."

"What are you doing?" Bradley asked.

"I'm going to get my fucking gun."

Chapter 55

Jason came off the elevator with his badge clipped to the waistband of his jeans. He'd tucked his shirt behind it to make sure it was visible. In his hands was a long black case with hard sides. Behind him was Crysis, wearing his official orange vest again. It had taken only seconds, and going through the motions helped him get his mind in the zone.

He was also slowly but surely fading behind the glass in his mind, feeling himself go into autopilot, but not yet. That was why he needed his dog. He had to keep it together for a moment longer. Nothing else mattered but getting to the Deputy Assistant Director and filling her in on everything that was happening.

"Alex!" he snapped when he was closer.

She turned, then paused when she realized what he was carrying. "Agent Raige?" she asked.

"All five women are missing from the top floor. No one can get ahold of them. Adam Degrass received an alert from Kate's smartwatch with an initial geo location. That led him to their phones. Abandoned, I believe in a parking lot." He paused, but couldn't stop himself from adding, "They have my wife."

"Where?" Alex demanded.

"I don't know yet!" Jason snapped.

"Have your people figure it the fuck out," she told him, pointing back toward the gaming hall. "Jason, it's time to go to work."

"Yes, ma'am," he said, turning to go where she'd pointed.

And in his head, the glass wall was continuing to form, separating his logic from his emotions. The part that wanted to scream that this wasn't fair had been locked away. The other half, the portion of his brain that knew exactly how to make these people pay had taken over, and he was more than happy to let it.

He didn't even make it all the way to the gaming hall, though, before he was spotted. Knock hurried up to him. "Are they ok? Dread just came back and said - "

"They're missing," Jason told him, his voice cold. "I need Ruin to find Kate's smartwatch, it's LTE-enabled. I need to know where the fuck she is. We need to know exactly where she is, and where they took our family."

Knock immediately pulled out his phone and lifted it to his ear. "Jer? All hands on deck, they have Riley and more. I need a trace on Kate Gaskill's watch." He looked at Jason and desperately lifted both brows, clearly needing more information.

"It sent an alert text to Adam's phone a little bit ago," Jason told him.

"Get that?" Knock asked. "Yep, Degrass with two S's. Promise he won't care. Yeah. Go crazy. Kitty should have the number if you need it. And Jeri? Life or fucking death. They have my sister, and I will do anything to get her back. Break it all down."

"Where's Logan?" Jason asked.

Knock just pointed back to the front desk. "He went that way. They're locking the computer in the manager's office. I'm supposed to tell your boss about it."

"Go," Jason said. "And if you have to choose, choose the girls first."

"Always," Knock promised.

Then Jason pulled out his phone and called his partner. "Where are you?"

"Parking garage behind the building, lowest level. I'm heading your way," Bradley assured him.

"We need a fucking car," Jason said. "They're out there, and I'm on foot."

"Tell Chance to give you his," Bradley said. "I know where he's parked, so I'll meet you there. And Jason? We have SWAT
