to bicker and grabbed a bottle of the whiskey and some cake and headed outside through a back exit. One of the production assistants tried to stop me, but I snarled at him, and he jumped back.

Several hours later, it had turned dark, and a not-insignificant amount of the whiskey had disappeared.

A pair of expensive Italian leather shoes paused in front of me.

I almost ran into my brother Owen as I raced out of the building. I had wanted to find Morticia; I was quickly becoming addicted to her. “The Svenssons didn’t send you, did they?” I asked in apprehension.

Owen scowled at me. “I’m here for a meeting with Belle about the interface for the voting for the finale. But since you mentioned it, for the record, I did warn you about going into business with them. But of course, you are a terrible judge of character.”

“No, I’m not!”

“You still carry the torch for Mom and Dad, and now you’re getting back together with Sarah?” He held out his phone.

On the screen was an article about my relationship with Sarah. The pulled quotes mentioned how she was my great love and how she intended for us to get back together.

“You aren’t seriously still in love with her, are you? Beck Svensson told me that now she and her husband are trying to ruin your reputation,” Owen asked.

Was I still in love with her? I had been heartbroken when she had left. But now her husband was trying to ruin me. “I don’t know if Sarah actually knows what Trevor’s up to.”

Owen sighed. “You have to stop making excuses for people. Do you not remember how miserable you were when you were with her? She fucked with your diet and went on that vegan kick where you had to come over to my condo and sneak hamburgers. Remember how she would hardly ever sleep with you, or how she always wanted to check your phone and would accuse you of being unfaithful?”

“It wasn’t that bad,” I said automatically. The reality was that though she and I had had good moments, the bad far outweighed them. At the end, I had been constantly walking on eggshells. The contrast with Sarah’s behavior was even more stark when compared with the way Morticia treated me.

And I felt extra bad that I was lying to Morticia about the development.

I’m going to figure out a way to make it work.

“Did you know,” Morticia asked me, “that you can buy dildos online? All kinds. There are ones that sing and ones that light up and ones that you can buy for bachelorette parties that shoot out Jell-O shots, and you can play games to try and squirt it in your friends’ mouths.”

“Yes,” I said, biting back a laugh. “I’m told it’s big business. I was wavering between investing my hedge fund in sex toys and porn or alcohol. We went with the alcohol because it’s hard to advertise porn.”

“You’re such a businessman,” she slurred, leaning back against the brick wall.

“Profit above all else,” I quipped, “which is why Sarah claims she left me.”

“Her loss,” Morticia retorted, taking another swig from the bottle of whiskey.

“Aw, did Morticia actually say she liked me?”

“I did not.”

“But you liked something else about me,” I replied, dragging her to her feet and shoving her back against the wall.

She wrapped her arms around me. The whiskey bottle dropped with a clunk as I spread her legs, grinding my hand against her pussy.

“You drunk enough for hot and dirty sex?” I whispered.

“I’ve made worse decisions regarding you,” she slurred, pressing hot kisses to my mouth and jaw.

My hands roamed down her body, going to her hips, lower, and under her skirt.

“You meant now?” she asked, a bit of accusation in her voice. “What if someone sees?”

“Isn’t that the fun of it?”

She was frozen in apprehension, sobering up a bit, but she wasn’t saying no. I felt her panties, which were already a bit wet from the mere idea of me fucking her against this brick wall.

I imagined that her mind was spinning, darting to the door and the path around the building. It was dark. The filming was done. I had waited for her then come out to search for her, hoping she hadn’t left. She was probably afraid of getting caught.

I had no such fear. If they caught me, oh no! The whole world would know I was crazy about this woman. What a terrible fate. For her sake, though, I would be
