Frost (Rolling Thunder MC Birmingham #3) - Candace Blevins Page 0,62

We’d incinerated his ID and credit cards.

They seemed to have bought it, because other than a few follow-up phone calls from the parole officer to make sure Mad Dog hadn’t heard from him, nothing else came of it.

The meeting with Brooke was uneventful. I’d intended to go to the clubhouse for the rest of the night when we finished, but Cheyenne asked me to come back to her house, so I did. She was so relieved to see me, she gave me a blowjob without me telling her to.

She didn’t get an orgasm that night, but I made it up to her the next morning with a nice, long ass-fucking followed by an explosive release.

And yes, the kids were down the hall, but I’d put sound dampeners in Cheyenne’s room, and she was learning to be quiet.

Speaking of the kids — Nora was learning to drive, and it scared the fuck out of me. I followed her, driving Cheyenne and the boys, for a few miles before I needed to go a different direction. Nora behind the steering wheel scared me worse than a midnight meeting with Brooke. It isn’t that she was a bad driver, just inexperienced, and she was driving the love of my life around.

I opened my bike up and flew, once I wasn’t behind them anymore. The crisp, clear morning was exhilarating. My day was full of planned meetings and I’d be stuck inside, but at least I wasn’t in a cage on the way to the office.

One of the former-prospects I’d sponsored met me at the front door and walked to my office with me. We’d patched him in a few weeks earlier, which made my life so much easier now that he could see everything.

Magnum is a turtle shifter and a geek, but I’d brought him in to help me at the construction company from the beginning, rather than assigning him as the club geek, since Skippy and Gears seemed to have that under control.

“What’s up?” I asked him.

“Someone tried to hack into our server last night, for the construction company. I talked to Gears, and he didn’t get any alarms on the MC’s servers, but when I looked through his logs, I could see an attempt there, too. I need to get with him on his alarms and security. Things have changed since the last guy coded the security protocols.”

“Do we know who’s fucking with us?”

“Negative. They didn’t get into our servers here. Gears is talking to Mad Dog about getting me into the club’s servers so I can try to track the cocksuckers back from there.”

“Same cocksuckers?”

He shrugged. “It’d be a huge coincidence if it wasn’t. The alarms woke me at nearly three in the morning. I followed them back through three nodes, they saw me, and stopped the brute attack. They didn’t get in. I know this, because I watched them while I tried to find them. It looks like they went to the clubhouse servers at that point, but no alarm woke anyone. Gears is a few hours behind me, trying to play catch-up. Not completely his fault. He inherited the servers and the security, while I got to implement everything here from scratch. For me, at least, it’s easier to work on my own system than to maintain someone else’s.”

“We’re safe for now? The company servers here?”

“Yes.”

“What could they get? Why would they try?”

He shrugged. “Bid information, bank accounts, contract wording — that’s if it was regular espionage. I suppose LEO might want to see the plans for our new clubhouse, and a list of the supplies we purchased to build it.”

Right. Special windows to thwart eavesdropping devices and bugs, lots of bulletproof material, not to mention the benefits of seeing our hidden passageways and walk-in safes hidden behind false walls.

“I don’t want details of the clubhouse on any server connected to the internet.” I nodded to the not-connected computer sitting on a credenza behind my desk. “I want it there, and on backup drives in a safe that will wipe everything inside if it isn’t accessed correctly. Once you’ve done that, get to the clubhouse and help Gears get everything locked down. I’ll talk to Mad Dog and let him know.” The computer on my desk would wipe itself if someone didn’t follow the right protocols going in. I wasn’t worried about it getting into the wrong hands due to a search warrant or raid.

I called Mad Dog on the secure app, and learned I might be about
