glass and my breast to knead it. I blink back more tears of pleasure.
“We’re coming,” he announces loudly and increases the pace.
“Mother of… oh, my God, Owen,” I scream.
Don’t ask me what happens next. All I know is that I feel his hot seed flood me as I ripple around him. My heart pounds as I collapse in his arms.
Owen
“Eva?”
I look down at baby girl in my arms. She has blacked out on me. I chuckle and lean to kiss her sweet lips. God, I love this woman.
Yeah, I’ll be following King back to Georgia. He needs to know the truth. This woman is mine. Maybe we can have something in common soon.
I can only wish.
I want Eva Kennedy as Eva Mason. The real Mrs. Mason.
Chapter 17

Eva
I close the file I’m working on and reach for the next one. I’m in Owen’s office working while he’s out at a worksite. After Monday, I haven’t been to a site since.
“Knock, knock.” I look up at the sound of Troy’s voice.
I have to hold myself back from groaning and rolling my eyes. He finds his way to this office whenever I’m here and Owen isn’t. I’m so tired of his corny jokes and prying.
“Hi, Troy,” I say, trying to hold back on my annoyance.
“You look busy. Hope we aren’t working you too hard.”
If I look busy you would think he would leave me alone. Not a chance. He saunters into the office and takes a seat in the chair across from me.
“Nothing wrong with a little hard work. How can I help you?” I reply.
“Oh, I thought I’d come and check on you. You know, see if everything is working out for you. If there may be some questions you have about the internship and your role here,” he says and gives me a cheese smile.
I try so hard not to roll my eyes. Glancing at the clock, I wonder how much longer Owen will be. I’m never comfortable around this guy.
“I’m fine. Working my way through the list Mr. Mason left for me,” I say.
“Maybe you should take a break. Have you eaten? I’d love to take you to lunch. You fascinate me. I want to get to know more about you,” he says.
“I have a lot to do here. I’ll get lunch when Mr. Mason returns. Thank you.”
“Oh, come on. You have to be hungry by now.” He looks down at his watch. “It’s the perfect time for this little spot I know. They serve great drinks as well.”
“I’m not much of a drinker. Besides, these are working hours for me. I’ll be fine here. I have some blueprints I need to get to after sorting these files. Thanks, though.”
“Shame. I would have enjoyed your company,” he says.
He stands and moves closer to my chair. I draw back in my seat. This guy really doesn’t get I’m not at all interested in him.
Please go away.
Too bad he doesn’t get the message. Instead, he reaches over me and picks up the file I just finished working on. He flips through it as if he’s overlooking my work.
I frown. Ugh, his cologne is giving me a headache. I pluck the folder from his hand.
“I have this one completed. Don’t want anything to fall out of order,” I say.
“I can see why the boss wanted you as his intern. You’re pretty thorough. What do you say I take a rain check on that lunch date?”
Oh my God, is he slow?
“I like to eat here. I’m not sure that rain check will happen,” I say pointedly.
“Keep it in mind. Totally my treat. We can go anywhere you want, doesn’t have to be my suggestion.”
“Yeah, sure,” I reply to get him out of here so I can finish my work.
“You know where to find me. It was good to see you, Eva. Always a pleasure to see you,” he says with that smile I’m sure he thinks is charming.
Like your ass hasn’t been in here every day so far this week. Ugh! Dick.
I only stare at him in confusion. I’ve never shown him any interest, and yet, here he is, again. I shake my head as he moves for the door to leave.
I pick up my phone to see if Owen has sent me a text. Troy has only served to remind me of how much I miss Owen. I bite my lip when I see nothing.
Pushing down my disappointment, I remind myself he’s a busy man. There were a few hiccups he had
