Forever (Lost Souls MC #1) - Blue Saffire Page 0,44
her out of her shell and allow her to see she doesn’t have to hide in those baggy clothes. Now, all I want is to rip my own shirt off and cover her in it.
I’m burning up with rage. Anthony is lucky to still have his life, fuck his job. He’ll be in Vegas by the end of the week. We just started a new division out there. Tiny has been asking me for a few good foremen. Well, now she has one.
All I want is to take Eva home and show her who she belongs to, but I can’t. I have a meeting with a new client at the office in thirty minutes. I rev the engine on King’s bike and floor it to the office. The sooner I get this over with, the better.
I may not be able to get my hands on her now, as bad as I want to, but I’m going to make it through this meeting with one goal in mind. Oh, I plan to fuck her brains out as soon as this meeting is over, and nothing is going to stop me.
Did she do anything wrong? No, that’s my fucking problem. She’s so sweet and innocent; people prey on that. I want that fire I know she has to be on display to let people know she belongs to me, but I can’t pull that shit out yet. Why? Because we haven’t done shit right.
No, this shit is on me. I fucked up and now I’m paying for it, big time. When King narrowed his eyes at me and said he had to go, I was able to take a breath of relief. King had come and gone without things coming to blows, and I was finally able to go get my woman.
I have to make this shit right, because it’s about to make me crazy. I know what I’m about to do is on the border of insane, but I don’t give a flying fuck. In my own head, I need to prove she’s mine.
“Fuck.”
Chapter 16
Mine
Eva
We get to the Soul Deep Enterprise Building and park in the garage. Owen helps me off the bike but doesn’t say a word. I wring my hands together after he takes the helmet from me and puts it away. His face is an expressionless mask.
“You’ll sit in on this meeting with me,” he says.
With a nod, I follow him wordlessly, but I can’t help noticing how detached he sounds. We walk to the elevator and climb in. I know this is during work hours. However, when he moves to stand across from me in the car with his arms folded across his chest, my heart sinks a little.
I swallow as my mind starts to spin. I move on autopilot as we get to the floor Owen’s office resides on.
“Mr. Mason, the clients are in the boardroom,” Holden says, after lifting his head up and spotting Owen storming forward ahead of me.
I recognize him from back home. Holden is the little brother of Tracks, one of the Squad members of the Lost Souls. I shudder to think of the Squad. It only takes a second to figure out Holden must be taking over for Beth.
“Good,” Owen replies, taking the clipboard that’s handed to him.
Owen seems to be keeping his distance from me. You would think we were just two co-workers, like we should be. I’m not sure how to feel about that.
“This client wants us to bid for this project. I’m not completely convinced I want to take this one on yet. We’ll head in after I get these docs signed,” he says as he flips through the pages on the clipboard.
His tone is gruff but still professional as he explains the purchase orders and contract he scribbles his signature on. I note he doesn’t fail to show me what he’s working on. “Always make sure the spec sheets match the purchase order. I can’t tell you how many times the wrong thing has been ordered because of one simple mistake,” he mumbles as he shows me what he means.
“Got it.”
“Holden, this all looks good. They have my signature. Get it all processed this afternoon,” he says, handing the clipboard back to Holden who has been walking with us.
“On it. There are some messages for you on your desk,” Holden says before turning and disappearing back to the reception desk.
Owen gives me a few more notes about the meeting we are going into before we get to
