in her own little bubble. I haven’t had real interaction with her since the summer before we lost Cage and Rose. Hell, I don’t know if she even remembers me or knows who I am anymore.

I tug on a pair of jeans, a black T-shirt, and my Lost Souls cut. I shove my feet into my heavy boots and head down to the garage. I have a few cars and bikes. Like I said, I’ve done well for myself and the club.

At the thought of having Eva on the back of my bike, wrapped tightly around me, I head for the Harley. I start for the address King sent me in a text. Leave it to him to have a tracker on Eva’s phone. I’m sure Sal was the one to put it on there too.

When I pull up outside the student apartments, I cut off my bike and climb off. Several people are hanging out of their doors, staring in the direction of the apartment I’m heading toward. As I get closer, the commotion that has their attention floats to me.

“Oh shit,” one guy gasps as I walk by. His eyes grow wide and he stumbles out of the way. As I move forward, all eyes are torn from the door the yelling is coming from.

Oh, yeah, I’m one big motherfucker. You can see that whether I’m in my suits or cut. However, when I’m wearing this cut, I look a hell of a lot scarier. Some of the onlookers tuck back into their apartments, others take a step back, but are still too nosy to close their doors.

Not one of these assholes have tried to do a thing to help. They are just watching and listening. Well, I’m here to help.

I send my boot right into the door Eva’s GPS signal and the raised voice of the douche she’s hiding from have led me to. The door splinters off the hinges and I move right into the apartment. I follow the voice further inside, my anger growing the further I move in.

I need to make this quick, the last thing I need is the press getting wind of me having been a part of something shady, especially with my club affiliation. There are some people who would love to throw some dirt on my name and to see my company go down in flames. Nevertheless, I will never deny my brothers.

We don’t usually allow me next to the trouble is all. That’s the way it is for most of my brothers who conduct legit business for the club. Most people associate bikers with bad news and crime.

Sure, we may have our hands in some illegal shit, but most of the brothers run some type of legit business that brings money into the club, big money.

We also have targets on our backs because of the cuts we wear on them when not in the office. So, the cleaner we can stay, the better. Well, tonight is different. This is Eva.

“Come on, baby.” The lanky punk comes into view. He’s now whining at the door Eva must be behind. “You came here to have a good time. Come on out of the bathroom. Let me show you that good time.”

“If she’s hiding in the bathroom, I don’t think she’s having much of a good time,” I drawl as I stand behind him with my arms folded across my chest.

The punk turns toward me, and I swear he’s about to piss his pants. A grin touches the corner of my lips. He flaps his mouth open, but nothing comes out. He roams his wide gaze over me to take in my size.

It’s pathetic. How did a little shit like him get a date with Eva? It pisses me off the more I think about it.

“Would you mind stepping aside. Something in that bathroom belongs to me,” I say, cocking my head to the side as I point at the door in question. “Eva, get your ass out here.”

Chapter 2

Time to Go

Eva

“Oh. My. God,” I breathe.

This night cannot get any worse. I would know that voice anywhere. I have dreams about that voice.

He probably didn’t even know I existed until King called in this favor tonight. King told me he was on club business and he wouldn’t be able to get to me.

When he said he was sending someone he trusts, I had a feeling he was talking about Brick, but I prayed it would be anyone else. Owen “Brick” Mason is
