Fool For You - By Megan Noelle Page 0,137

were about to have a total blow out argument. “Are you guys getting together?”

“For dinner.” The words came out so low, I wondered if he could hear me. He rolled onto his back; I watched his chest heave up in a large sigh.

There were many different things I should have said and the selfless part of me screamed it was time to let Corey go. If I wasn’t ready to commit to him one hundred percent, then I had no business leading him on. Sleeping in his bed is one thing but I’ve become a part of his world and he has become a part of mine. For that reason, the selfish part of me wanted to hold on. So instead of providing him words of comfort, I took the coward’s way out and threw my arm over his chest and snuggled into his side. It took less than a minute for his body to mold to mine and even though I could sense the distress, sleep overtook us both.

We awoke late in the afternoon and after eating a late lunch, I said goodbye. When I got home I showered but still felt overwhelmed with exhaustion. I decided against make up and changed into yoga pants and layered tank tops before sprawling out onto my couch. Hours later, Oliver showed up with Chinese takeout and a few action flicks. After we finished eating, Ollie pulled me onto the couch with him. My shoulders tensed as our bodies lined up but once again, my aching need for sleep was taking over and all I could do was give in.

Oliver didn’t seem to mind, as his arms laced around and held me close. The comforting feeling that ran through me with Corey near—wasn’t there with Oliver. I wanted to put some distance between us but my body was far too gone to move. When the movie ended, Ollie woke me and asked if I wanted him to stay the night but I knew there was no way that was going to happen. He packed up his movies and gave me a lingering kiss on the lips that felt as if he wanted it to lead into more. Instead I pulled away and waved goodbye before going back to the couch to zone out to some more TV.

Throughout the week, things were busier as the end of October approached. This was a time for many different events at the Inn; weddings of course, horse rides, and Halloween themed parties. Unfortunately, the planning kept Corey and I apart. Which in the beginning was murder since I knew he was upset about my impromptu dinner with Ollie. The more time I spent away from Corey, the more I found myself missing him. Being near him was so easy that I really could be exactly who I was and knew that Corey wanted to be with me—for me. So without being able to stop myself I made plans to hang out with him Friday night after work.

At first, I thought Corey was going to say no, since he informed me that night he would have to work. My heart plummeted, until he asked me to come by and have a drink at the bar and hang out until he was off. To me, there was nothing better than that. As long as I could be near Corey, that was all I needed to be happy. During the week nights, I wanted nothing more than to have Corey in my bed but for whatever reason he decided to forgo our sleepovers. I told myself I didn’t care but I knew better.

By the time Friday rolled around, I was more than excited to get over to Corey’s bar and spend the night with him. By 6:30 everything at the Inn was taken care of, so I was able to skip out and spend the rest of the night pampering myself before going out. After curling my hair into big ‘supermodel’ curls and creating a smokey eye look with Earthy tones, I turned to my wardrobe. After much debate, I finally settled on my dark skin tight jeans, a white tank top with ruching across the stomach that cupped my chest and pulled back into a bow behind my neck. Along with that, I threw on my white heels and black leather jacket. The second I was finished dressing, I ran out to my car so I didn’t have to wait one more
