Fire (Pirate Cove Academy #3) - Rae Foxx Page 0,9

know that patience isn’t your strong suit, but it has to be this way. If Raven is who we think she is and she can wield the Trident, then we have to know for sure.”

Gods, I hated it when he was right. And he was right a lot.

“We don’t even know if it’s her. Fuck.” I tossed the tie onto the floor and stepped on it. They could forget the tie today.

“You said she has powers. Why hasn’t anyone ever mentioned them. I don’t understand why she hasn’t been recognized as something more in the first place.” Kai was all calculating.

“I thought it was just something Mer could do on land. How in the hell was I supposed to know that only those who have a strong lineage to gods have special powers? I mean, shit, I didn’t even know that I could ever return to the Under.”

“Wait, we can return?” Kai asked, looking at Caspian. He rolled his eyes in response.

I didn’t have time to explain everything. “Okay, but let’s say Raven is the rightful heir to the throne. Why go through all of this bullshit, making us get information from Aliz? Why not just take the Trident and take everyone down that’s in her way? What is she playing at? These are the fucking things I need to know.”

Shit, I’d basically just done a roundabout on my own argument and come out agreeing with Kai.

Caspian was right. I was a dumb shit on my best days.

Speaking of him… “Caspian, go get dressed. We have to leave soon, fake Kai.”

He grumbled something about nothing being fake and left the room, I hoped in search of his uniform.

“I want you to be safe today, okay? But just in case something goes off, I will be near.” I turned to Kai, whose eyes were soft, but firm.

Though his voice was soothing, the words he had said sent me into a freaked-out frenzy. “What? No, you will not! You’re still healing, and this place is a fucking mess. You can’t spend your time following me around.” I threw my arms up, completely exhausted at the idea of another person I cared about getting hurt at this blasted school.

He huffed a frustrated breath. “I’m not going to leave you unprotected. No one knows who I am. They think tall, grey, and weird is me anyway.”

“No Kai. You can’t even use your legs.”

That was the weakest thing I’d ever said in my life.

Kai chuckled and closed the distance between us with little to no effort whatsoever. I think I might’ve been envious of his ease. The fucker had only been here a few days and already he was showing me up like this?

He was smiling down at me now. “I know how to use my legs and all the parts of this new body just fine. Would you like a demonstration of just how well I can use them? Maybe a reminder of last night?” He reached down and planted a kiss on my mouth, sending a blush straight to my hairline.

Before I could respond to his offer of a demonstration, he backed me up until my ass hit the wall behind me and pressed his hardness into my pelvis. His hand came up and tucked a stray piece of hair behind my ear while his mouth found mine again.

I melted. What had started out as sweet kisses soon became devouring ones. He made a trail from my mouth to my neck and sucked on the sensitive area under my ear while I ground my hips into him.

As a moan left my mouth, Caspian barged in and chuckled a bit. “It’s time to go, Princess.”

I cleared my throat and Kai pulled back, but the grin on his face was priceless.

“Or we can stay. I can watch, or we can have a threesome, but I call the ass. It’s going to be mine one way or the other.” Kai growled, but didn’t respond.

Did Caspian really just ask to have a three-way with my Bloodsworn? I experienced an out of body moment as I observed the room as if from above. Me, pressed against the wall by Kai, Caspian smirking from the doorway. It all seemed so surreal, yet so right at the same time. Gods, what had my life become these last few weeks? Do I get to keep it after all this chaos ends?

Caspian’s offer did have my pussy clenching. Why did the idea of both of them inside me make me want to
