already raging through his body a second time.

“You have to watch your head where the roof slopes, but that’s okay. The bathroom is through there. Nice skylights… And of course, the bed.”

Lachlan nearly growled at the sight of it. A nice, big, solid oak bed in the middle of the room, where the roof was highest. A bed that wouldn’t squeak with the strain of what he had planned. More importantly, it was open on all sides, with no posts or a footboard to maneuver around. He could back Holly right up to the mattress, lay her down, and make love to her a second time.

When he dipped his head to kiss her, her lips met his eagerly. And when he nudged her backward, she smiled under his kiss. But when her calves hit the mattress, she stuck a hand against his chest and murmured, “Not so fast, buster.”

He stroked her cheek, assuming she wanted a little more time.

Holly laughed and slid a hand toward his groin. “Correction. Fast is good, but I had something else in mind.”

He arched an eyebrow. “Oh yes?”

She waited, driving him mad with anticipation. Then she turned until he was the one with his back to the bed. “I was kind of thinking—” she pushed on his chest, giving him no choice but to sink back on the mattress “—something…like…this.” She came down over him, then nudged him along until he lay squarely in the middle of the big bed. Finally, she straddled him and slowly settled into place.

“What do you think? Of the view, I mean.” Her voice was a tease.

He licked his lips. He was staring up at the ceiling — but more importantly, up at her. Her breasts swayed just out of reach, and her eyes glowed with arousal.

“Not what I was assuming,” he managed to rasp. “But it has potential.”

With a vixen’s grin, she dragged her hips over his, bumping his straining cock in yet another tease. “Oh, it has potential, all right. Especially if I do this.”

She took him in, one hot, hard inch at a time. Her mischievous look faded, replaced by one of sheer bliss, and she tipped her head back. Then her throat bobbed, and she leaned forward, resting her elbows on either side of his head to come face-to-face. For a moment, she gazed into his eyes. Then she closed her eyes and whispered, “Just one sec.”

He cupped her waist, keeping perfectly still. Was she having second thoughts? Did it hurt? What was wrong?

Gently, he slid a thumb over her ribs. “Everything all right?”

She shushed him with a smile. “Everything is perfect. I’m just tuning in.”

He grinned and closed his eyes, listening to the soft sound of Holly’s breath, the patter of rain on the roof, and the wash of waves over the shoreline.

Then he sniffed. Not a whiff of danger, nor a hint of evil nearby. Just the sweet, sweet aroma of arousal mixed with Holly’s wild flower scent. Oh, and the heady scent that had followed them from downstairs — the lingering scent of making love.

He held his breath, treasuring that proof that all this was real, not a dream.

She was close enough to nuzzle, so he did. Immediately, a feeling of peace settled into his bones. Peace and arousal, though suddenly, he was no longer in a rush. He sank deeper into the mattress, feeling her light weight pressing down on him. Better still, feeling her slick heat enveloping his shaft.

“I like tuning in,” he murmured.

She chuckled. “I like it too.”

“Still…” he ventured as the heat in his body flared. “I wouldn’t mind peeking.”

She laughed. “Be my guest.”

His eyes slid open, and there she was. As beautiful as ever, but somehow, even more so.

“You like what you see?”

Love what I see, his dragon murmured. Literally.

He nodded dumbly, then cleared his throat. “You were right about the view.”

She flashed a huge, sunny smile that made his soul soar. Then she kissed him, exploring the curve of his lips. He did the same, savoring her taste. Soon, their bodies were rocking again. Slow and sensual at first, with Holly leaning from side to side, teasing him with different angles. She didn’t utter a word, but the little sounds of pleasure she made drove him wild.

The more they moved, the farther she leaned back, opening her mouth in a silent groan. He nearly groaned too, when the position revealed the creamy skin of her neck. Primal instincts stirred inside him.

Mate. Claim, his dragon rumbled, homing in
