Finding His Mate (Bare Bites #3) - Mila Crawford Page 0,12

took the bottle of shampoo from him and washed his hair lovingly. His eyes closed and a soft moan escaped his lips as I massaged.

“I have a problem keeping my hands to myself when you're around.”

He caught my chin in his fingertips and leaned in a playful kiss. “Well, that makes two of us then, beautiful.”

Chapter 9

Brett

“I feel thoroughly fucked in the very best possible ways,” Shayla cooed under my arm the next morning, her hot skin still pressed to mine. She was wet from the shower and my cock, and hell if I wasn’t ready for more. I couldn’t get enough of this woman, I’d come to think of her as my only addiction, and one I never wanted to overcome.

“Sounds like I did my job as your mate. Keeping you thoroughly satisfied is my top priority.”

“Mm, call me crazy, but when you were talking about…” Her eyes darted around the ceiling of the bedroom adorably. “I liked it.”

I chuckled. “Are you trying to say you want to try anal, Shayla?”

Her face reddened to the shade of a ripe tomato before she broke my gaze. “I…”

“Hey,” I caught her chin, forcing her to meet my eyes. “Don’t ever be ashamed of telling me what turns you on. I want to know everything that makes you tick.”

She sucked in a soft breath as my fingertip dragged up her hot skin, leaving a trail of shudders before our lips connected. I moved on top of her, locking our fingers together above her head as I dropped kisses down the center of her perfect skin.

Then my ears perked up as I heard footsteps outside of the cabin. I quickly got up and got dressed, prepared for anything at this point. I threw Shayla my t-shirt and a pair of pants that were discarded on the floor.

“Get dressed, baby. Someone is here.” To my shock, she didn’t argue and actually listened to me, moving so fast that I forgot she was a human. I placed her behind me and we walked towards the front door, as quietly as possible. I wanted the upper hand on whoever this fucker was. As we got closer to the front door, the smell that assaulted me became familiar. I felt the hair on the back of my neck stand at attention as the threat moved down the hallway.

“Shayla?”

I growled when he said her name. “The cop shifter is here”

Shayla bit down on the flushed bottom lip I’d just been sucking on, eyes wide and laced with terror. “Oh my god, It’s just Aydin.”

“Mind telling me why a strange man is wandering around your house like he owns the place, bringing bagels first thing in the morning?”

“Brett.” Her face fell, emotion watering her eyes. “It’s not like that.”

“Shayla? You okay in here?” The deep timbre of his voice sent all of my senses on the edge of rage.

“Tell him to get the fuck out of here.” My hands formed into fists, the Wolf just hanging on by a thread. I hated that another shifter had dared walk into my mate’s house. I hated that she wasn’t automatically telling him to get the fuck out.

“I will not tell him to leave, he just helped us out. That’s rude.” She slipped out in front of me and padded towards the front entrance, before turning back to me, eyes looking to meet mine. “I’ve known Aydin since we were in elementary school, he isn’t my mate, you are. He isn’t a threat to you, me or us. Calm yourself.”

My mouth dropped. I took off my shirt, and unbuttoned the top button of my jeans. I wanted this Aydin to know that she belonged to me. The little fucker needed to know his place.

I was about to yell at her, when I barreled downstairs after her, finding them getting situated at kitchen table, taking the bagels out of the bag, while Shayla sipped at the coffee that he brought her like they’d been doing it every morning since the beginning of time.

“What the hell is this about?”

Aydin turned, arching an eyebrow at me. “Mornin’, just came to check on the two of you. Wanted to make sure she was alright.”

“She’s fine. She’s protected. You’re not needed here.” Frustration pooled in my system, building up like excess adrenaline as I realized Shayla did not understand the depth of our bond and things as intimate as this weren’t okay with me.

“Didn’t mean any offence.” Aydin said, raising his hands. “I was just being neighbourly.”

“Brett,
