going to need a condom...or several.”
He almost died as pleasure lit those enticing green eyes. “Oh, Lord. I hadn’t even thought...”
He kissed her again. His mouth against hers, he said, “I like that about you, Red. It means you don’t sleep around.”
She chuckled against his lips. “You could say that.”
They took their sweet time getting up the stairs. He put her feet on the first rise and leaning forward kissed her until her lovely behind found purchase against the higher steps. With arms planted on each side of her, he brushed his chest against hers as he claimed her mouth and she arched backward. Kelly pulled him onto herself, then rolled onto Evan, pushing him against the stairs. He liked that. He used his arms to ascend the steps, letting his butt settle on each riser as Kelly climbed between his legs, her reach for him pushing her breasts into his chest while kissing him with enough pressure to keep the momentum up the stairs. Then, he’d stop climbing. The feel of her was so overwhelming he just had to wrap his arms around her, capturing her between his legs to drink deeply of her kisses. They’d stop for breath, smiling at each other until they started kissing and climbing toward their destination again.
When they reached the top, Evan landed on his back. Kelly snaked her arms around his neck and settled on top of him, making him harder than he already had grown. A soft purr vibrated her throat. She hungrily sought his lips while his hands restlessly explored her back and the curve of her luscious behind.
He had to get this woman into his bed. It had been too long since he’d made love. He had spent way too many hours imagining this moment with Kelly and here she was, blowing his mind. Exceeding expectation.
He stopped thinking. His caveman pounded his chest and his senses took over.

KELLY COULDN’T THINK as her inhibitions swirled into non-existence. If she ever worried whether or not she could give herself to a man, she need wonder no longer. Touching Evan was sheer electricity, as if once connected she could not let go. Kissing him felt perfect. Delicious. HOT. His mouth sent surges straight down to her womb where her need to have him rose like a Phoenix from ashes.
Logic be damned. She wanted this man now. She wanted Evan to know it. When Matt had called him Dad with such surety, that one word blasted the wall that she’d put between her and Evan. Once the door closed, his voracious look in those come-hither blue eyes triggered a need in her that she’d ignored for too long. Evan was doing everything in his power to make the world safe for her and Matt. But most importantly, he had given her son the gift of a father.
Right now, she couldn’t care less as to why. All she wanted to do was thank him, body and soul. Only, she couldn’t tell who was getting the better end of the gratitude. The mere sound of Evan’s voice whispering her name between kisses sent her reeling.
What was it about this man that she could not resist?
Oh, God. It had to be his touch. Those hands were wreaking havoc on her body. His kisses, driving her wild. When he stood and offered her his hand, she almost cried for the distance between his body and to hers.
“Come on, Red. Let’s get comfortable. We have some work to do.”
She slipped her hand into his. Sure as the sky was blue, she had waited way too long to give herself to a man. She could feel her attachment to Evan pulling like a magnet from sheer need alone. Even the strength of his hand turned her on.
The night curtains in Evan’s room were drawn back, but gauzy sheers covered the windows hinting to the impressive city skyline. She noted the spacious room painted in muted tones but her gaze riveted to the bed. Evan’s bed. Modern, platformed. Charcoal-silver silk covering. Large down pillows. Evan turned her to him, taking her with another knee-melting kiss.
He pressed his forehead to hers, exhaling a satisfied sigh. “I dreamed of having you in my bed, woman.”
She nipped his lower lip with her teeth. “And if I’d only known you kissed like this I wouldn’t have taken so long.”
He answered with a harsh laugh. “Well now, we’ll just have to make up for lost time.”
