you look hot,” he said, his voice strained. “Sir?”

His eyes were definitely not on my face.

“My eyes are up here,” I teased him gently. When he quickly looked up with a guilty smile, I winked and took a sip from the cup he’d handed me. “Scotch and soda?”

“Yes. Is that okay?”

“Just fine,” I lied as the whiskey kicked me in the nostrils, tonsils, and lungs for good measure. I had to breathe carefully to avoid coughing out the words. If I had a thread of dignity left, I wanted to keep it.

Slate relaxed gradually, eyeing me. “I don’t know what to say that isn’t a come-on,” he admitted at last, clearing his throat as he rubbed his face. “Can we dance instead?”

My brow arched. I appreciated his honesty, and it was hard not to laugh at his sheepish grin. “Come on, then,” I said and took his hand, towing him toward the dance floor.

I’d never felt hotter. It wasn’t just the way Slate looked at me, but the way everyone else looked at us knowingly—probably thinking, Master X leading another boy around like a lovesick puppy?—and I stood even taller. They didn’t know the secrets between us.

I pulled him to a halt in a quiet corner of the room that was reserved for dancing—and, of course, the occasional public show.

Then I swung him around until we faced each other, and I started moving to the deep, throbbing beat. It thumped through the air, vibrating my chest, prickling along my skin, under my briefs, straight to the tip of my aching shaft.

If I coughed after sipping my drink, it was easier to hide the soft noises in the thumping music that made the very air tremble around us.

It was a slow, sensual roll, and so were our bodies, moving together as they found a rhythm seemingly without our say-so. It didn’t take long, either. By the time I’d tipped back the last of my drink, we were so close I could feel his hot breath against the rim of my ear, his hand gliding so carefully up my side like he wasn’t sure he was allowed to touch.

“Latex,” he said, hardly audible over the music.

I nodded, gesturing for him to finish his drink. Once he did, I pulled his other hand until he held my sides, and then ran my hands up those strong forearms until I gripped his shoulders.

It felt so right, like our bodies were meeting for a moment that nothing could ever interrupt. It was meant to be, the rhythm of our bodies and hearts.

Nearby, two men ground together, unmistakably caught up in something even more explicit. They were both shirtless, but the darkness of the dance floor hid any other details. One cried out softly, their bodies rocking while the other gripped his head, pulling him close. Unlike at least three-quarters of the room, I didn’t recognize them.

Slate’s gaze followed mine, and then he gasped softly. He touched my back, fingers tangling in the laces of my corset as he tore his gaze away from them and back to me. “Sexy,” he approved, a growl in my ear. “I wish you’d let me unlace this, at least.”

“No,” I told him. It was a real pain in the ass to lace up, apart from anything else. And I didn’t want to get him into bad habits, like exposing me in public. No way.

Slate widened his eyes, pouting, but I just grinned. Not a chance, boy, my look said.

Slate gave up and ran his fingertips up to my shoulders instead, touching like he couldn’t quite believe I was here for real.

Our bodies pressed together as he leaned into me, and they didn’t part again. With every step, we couldn’t pull back—we only fell further into one another. As sweat beaded across his chest, our skin glided together, hot and wet.

Fuck. How am I supposed to resist this? Why even try?

I stepped forward until the buckles of his harness pressed against my chest and our hips met. My hard length ground into his thigh, sparks ricocheting through me as my belly flipped with intoxicating arousal. Every muscle in my body was taut.

Slate’s hands froze on my back for a moment, and his breath caught. “Oh,” he groaned, his fingertips wandering down like he was going to grab my ass. “Master X. Is that a whisk in your pocket, or are you happy to dance with me?”

I choked back a laugh and beat him to it, reaching down to grip his
