Decker's Daughter - Caroline Lee Page 0,35
his brows rose. “I got tired of waiting for a partner, and I started playing Strip Sudoku by myself.”
“Strip Sudoku?” Her lips twitched, and she made a point of dragging her gaze down his body, appreciating the hard planes and ridges she’d felt under his clothes, but had never seen until now. “And you lost, I see.”
With a growl, he was upright and standing in front of her before she could blink.
Heavens, he was glorious!
His shoulders were so wide and tan, his stomach flat and enticing, and lower… Her fingers itched to cup that part of him, to know what he felt like after all this time.
“I’m glad we waited.” He was breathing heavy, his chest expanding, and he looked as if he were arguing with his baser instincts. “It’s been so damn hard, but I’m glad. I wanted you to be my wife before I made you mine in every way.”
The way he growled his claim on her sent shivers of need down Bobbi’s spine, and she reached for him, pressing herself against his hardness.
“I’ve been waiting weeks for this, Decker.”
His lips moved closer to hers. “I’ve been waiting a lifetime. I love you.”
Grinning, she pushed herself up on her good set of toes to be able to reach his lips. “I love you, husband.”
In an instant, they were on the bed, where he reverently pushed her robe off her shoulders and gazed at her as if she were the most beautiful thing he’d ever seen. His blatant desire made her feel powerful, much like the queen he’d claimed she was. It made her bold, and daring, and utterly insatiable.
She reached between them to grasp him, and began to stroke him as his teeth grazed one of her nipples, and she arched her back with a moan of desire. Pushing himself to his knees, he reached for her aching core, and she cried out his name in desperation. He pushed into her as she planted her feet flat on the bed and arched up against him.
It felt so good.
So right.
So…perfect.
The age-old dance built the pressure—the pleasure—between them, and within moments, white-hot joy burst behind her eyes. Her legs clamped tightly around his hips, and that was apparently the only encouragement he needed because, roaring her name, he thrust again, then collapsed atop her.
Oh.
Oh my.
When he rolled off her, he pulled her along with him, so she was sprawled half across his chest as they both panted.
It’s like we ran a marathon!
Well, not quite, she corrected herself. Because a marathon would be utterly exhausting, and she definitely had enough energy for another round or two of that.
Maybe three or four more rounds.
Her lips curved upward.
Right.
To her surprise, the chest under her began to rumble, and she lifted her head to find Decker staring at the ceiling, chuckling. She wasn’t sure why, but found herself joining him, loving the way his perfect smile looked against his freshly shaved cheeks.
“Why are we laughing?” she asked.
“Well, I dunno why you’re laughing, but I’m laughing because that was the most incredible experience of my life.”
He lifted his head long enough to wink at her, then flopped it back down to the pillows again.
“Oh good,” she quipped, rolling off him, “because that’s why I was laughing too. But I think we should try it again, to have something to compare it to.” She pushed herself to her knees, and winked right back. “You know, for science.”
Slowly, he sat up, peering at her suspiciously. “For science?”
She nodded, trying to keep a straight face. “For science.”
With a grin, he swung his legs off the bed and padded around to her side, completely at ease with his nudity. “You know what I think?” he growled, bending down to meet her eyes.
Holding her breath, she shook her head mutely. And when he swept her up into his arms again, laughter burst out of her. “What are you doing?”
“I think it’d be a shame to let those bubbles go to waste, Mrs. Cauldron. Let’s go take a bath.”
So they did.
Together.
For science.
Chapter 10
“Can I take your plate, Pops?”
Beaming, the old man handed over his now-empty plate to Decker’s new daughter. “Thank you, sweetie. But you should let Jami, Cade, Jim and Joy handle clean-up tonight.” He winked. “It’s their turn, you know.”
Since the Cauldron boys had started marrying, Sunday evening dinner cleaning schedules had been shifted around a bit. Now, two different couples each week were in charge of loading the dishwasher, and things went much faster.
Luckily, as the newest newlyweds,
