Crossroads (Beautiful Biker MC Romance Series) - DD Prince Page 0,9
bedrooms to the bathroom. When I was out, back in the hallway, she was stumbling toward me, half disheveled, lipstick smeared, and racoon eyes from all her black eye makeup.
I tried to kill her with my eyes. Kill her dead. She looked away. She knew who I was. I wasn’t anyone’s old lady. Bunnies knew they had to defer to the wives and girlfriends of club members. I wasn’t an old lady, I was more. Yeah, it sounded arrogant of me, but I was the motherfucking Prez’s daughter. And I’d just made my disapproval of her very much known.
He was suddenly in the hallway in just a pair of jeans. He was barefoot, bare-chested, hair loose and messy, probably because that skank’d had her hands in it. And he saw me staring her down, my arms folded over my chest. Shit. My whole body was revved up with emotions.
I glared at him. I had a terrible poker face.
And that fucker gave me a look of complete indifference as he passed me.
He had a sexy upper body. Holy crap. Even though I was angry and hurt on top of being hulk-green with envy, I couldn’t help but notice. The only ink I saw was on his bicep, a Wyld Jackals emblem. A small one. Somehow, I expected him to be covered in ink. I also expected that Jackals tatt to be bigger.
“Back in a jiffy, hot stuff,” the bunny said as he was in the doorway of the men’s room.
“Naw, babe. I gotta get up early for work. See yerself out.” He dismissed her.
She pouted and then headed into the ladies’ room. She wasn’t someone I knew, but I knew her type. She was a club whore wannabe. She knew the score. Dismissed. Sucks to be you, skank.
Truthfully, I liked a lot of bunnies, had been friends with a few. Gianna, for one, who started out as a bunny and had recently gotten together with Jesse. She was awesome. So was Leanne from the bar.
Most of the bunnies that were welcome around our club were just girls who liked to party with bikers, who liked to get off with rough guys. Some girls made the mistake of coming around and becoming a bunny when they maybe would’ve liked to be an old lady. Like Gianna. The fact that she’d turned it around for herself was rare. Not unheard of, but rare. I hadn’t seen her around, actually, not since the day of our charity carwash a few weeks ago when it was publicly declared that she was Jesse’s. I wasn’t sure why I hadn’t seen her and had been dying to get the scoop.
Gianna was good people. Then again, her stepsister – the one who was with Luke, my brother Rider, Scott, and Edge – that bunny wasn’t awesome. Though now she was dead. Sadly. She was too young to die, even if she was a dumb girl who hitched her wagon to the wrong star. She had no idea the trouble she bought when she got between our club and the Wyld Jackals. But this bunny? Whether she was nice or not was irrelevant to me because she’d just been in the room of the man I had set my sights on.
I headed back into the ladies’ room; I wasn’t sure why, maybe to give her another glare when she came out. I made it to the inner doorway when I heard her talking on the phone in the stall in not much more than a whisper but enough that I could hear her. I didn’t think she heard me come in. I’d padded in wearing little fluffy polka dot socks and she was wearing CFM shoes (Come Fuck Me shoes).
“Naw, he told me to leave. I can’t. No one else in here worth payin’ attention to ‘cept Jesse and he’s given me the brush off twice. Naw, they saw me come up with Fork, no way I can pull that off tonight. No one’s on the move. Don’t have a clue. Things’re coolin’. Fuckin’ big buck got his blowjob and kicked me out. Didn’t get nothing back, for fuck sakes. Asshole didn’t even ask for my number.”
My eyes bulged. I stayed put and listened.
“I’ll try again tomorrow night. See if I can get up here again to get anything.” She flushed the toilet, so I backed out into the hallway.
What was she after?
I went to the kitchen, knowing I would see her when she came out, see where she
