had taken me to his house. We’d showered, we’d talked, and I’d cried. I broke down right in his arms, and he held me like he’d promised.
Talon grinned, but his hands did fall away after squeezing gently. “Take your woman and get outta here before the brothers con Channa into more fuckin’ cakes we don’t need.”
“You good to get Stanley’s car back to him?” Cody asked.
“Huh?” I said, glancing from one man to another.
“Griz is on it. Have a good ride.”
My eyes widened, and I clasped my hands in front of me. “We’re going for a ride?”
Both men chuckled. Cody nodded. “Yeah, angel.”
“But the bakery—”
“Has Susan there now, so you don’t need to stress as much. I’ve already spoken to her. She’s also taking the morning shift.”
“It wasn’t her turn.”
“She doesn’t mind. That’s what she’s there for. Now, you gonna come with me?” He held his hand out.
I took it. “Always.” He slid his hand in my jeans pocket and took out the keys, throwing them to his dad, who caught them easily. We started for his bike. “Bye, Talon.”
“Later, darlin’. See ya, kid.”
“Catch ya, Dad.”
At the bike, Cody helped me into my helmet with a small smile on his lips. Lips I wanted to kiss. My gaze shifted down to his chest. He’d healed. Both Talon and he had, but it still played on my mind. Seeing them both coated in blood.
“Hey,” Cody called, and I lifted my gaze. “You ready?”
“Always ready for a ride with you.”
Riding while holding on to Cody was just what I needed. We hadn’t done it since the… situation, and I hadn’t realized how much I’d missed it. I couldn’t get over the way it made me feel centred, how it put a smile on my face and cleared my mind. It also had a lot to do with the man in front of me.
“Cody,” I moaned, grinding back on his cock.
His hands gripped my hips before he dropped them and leaned over me, pressing his hands to the bed where he’d bent me over. “Fuck, angel, you feel so good.”
I turned my head, enough to have his mouth on mine. He went deep and filled me deliciously, only to pull back and do it over and over.
God, I loved this. I loved him. So much.
“Cody,” I whispered, my lower belly tightening, tingling. My pussy throbbed.
“Come for me, angel. Come,” he growled. The words had my orgasm shooting forth.
I yelled his name as he thickened inside me, and he groaned out his own release.
His breath fanned over the back of my neck, where he kissed. “We gotta take more days off.”
Laughing, I nodded, my forehead pressed into the bed, trying to catch my breath. “I agree.” I shuddered when he slid out of me.
His hand cupped me between my legs, and his lips pressed onto a cheek of my butt. My heart hammered in my chest at the gesture. With moves like that, it was no wonder I wanted the man. He straightened enough to slide his free palm up my back as his hand dropped away from between my legs. He gripped my hair and tugged me back. I went willingly, straightening to rest my back against his chest. He curled an arm around my waist and licked at my neck, then bit. “Fuckin’ mine, and I’m so damn grateful.”
“Cody,” I whispered. Resting my hands over his arm that was around my waist, I held on to this man, my man. It brought all my emotions up to a point where I knew it was the right moment to tell him. “I love you, honey.”
He dropped his head to my shoulder and sucked in a shaky breath. “Angel.” He turned me in his arms and cupped my cheeks. “We’ve been through a lot, and I know I say this all the time, angel, but I promise things will settle in here over what happened.” He touched a couple of fingers to my temple and slowly drifted them back down to my cheek. “No matter how long it takes, I’ll be here. I’ll be at your side because you’re my future. I love you with everything I am.”
Tears brimmed, and a silly smile took over my face. I never pictured my future would hold my knight in shining armour walking back into my life, and even when I tried to fight my feelings for him, I should have known it was inevitable because Cody “Coyote” Marcus was meant for me, and no matter what was to come, we would face it together.
