the compound instead of the business. The only opening to the public we had was the mechanic shop entrance, which had parking out the front. The compound was completely blocked off from outsiders unless they were invited.

After parking, I waited for Channa to climb off. Her legs shook a bit, being her first ride, but it’d be something she’d get used to. From her shining smile, she looked like she’d enjoyed the ride over.

“That was epic. Scary, but amazing,” she exclaimed, bouncing up and down after taking off her helmet. I climbed off, removed my open-face lid, and placed it on the tank as Channa put hers on the seat.

Curling an arm around her shoulders, I tugged her close, kissing the top of her head. “Glad you enjoyed it, angel.”

We walked towards the doors, pulling to a stop when they opened and Ruin stepped out. He’d been frowning until he saw us.

“Brother and bakery girl,” he yelled, coming at us. We embraced, and when he angled back, he smirked down at Channa. Yeah, we’d been texting and calling while he’d been away; he knew what was happening. Didn’t mean he wouldn’t give us shit for it. “So,” he drew out. “He finally manned up and grew some balls to claim you.”

“S-Sorry?” Channa asked.

“Yeah, my brother here was pining over you—”

“All right, enough. Babe, don’t listen to him. Whatever he says is a lie.”

“He’s right. Like the fact he’s the best rider in the club. See, all lies.” With a smooth move, he reached out, grabbed Channa’s wrist, and spun her so he could place his arm around her shoulders and walk her inside.

“That’s my damn woman,” I snarled, and I clipped him in the back of the head.

“Jesus, brother. I was just being nice and showin’ her in.”

“Bullshit.” I shook my head and wound my arm around Channa’s waist. She seemed highly amused by our actions, so at least I wouldn’t have to hurt Ruin too much.

Ruin swept a hand out and bowed. “Lead the way with your wonderful woman.” I didn’t miss the way his smile dimmed when we walked by. My brother had shit on his mind. I’d have to catch some one-on-one time with him later.

“Thought you were headin’ out?” I asked since he had been walking out of the compound.

Glancing over my shoulder, I caught him rubbing at the back of his neck. “Yeah, was just gonna head out for a minute, but it’s all good now.”

“Right,” I drew out. Channa glanced up, nibbling on her bottom lip. She knew something was up with Ruin as well. He’d seemed fine when we’d contacted each other. I mean, I knew it wouldn’t have been bliss on the trip, not under the circumstances, but there was something else putting him on edge, and I’d be sure to get to the damn bottom of it.

Just as we entered into the common room, where soft music played and people sat or stood around chilling, I leaned in, kissed Channa’s temple, and whispered, “I’ll have a chat with him later.”

She nodded, smiling softly up at me. Fuck me, she was gorgeous. It was easy to get lost in her eyes, and with her smile and her sexy as fuck body, I couldn’t get enough of her. I wanted to spend every damn moment with her. When I did see her, it was like waking up in the best damn mood anyone could ever be in.

Hell, I was a goner.

“Channa, you’re here,” Maya said, rushing up to us. She’d popped over when Channa happened to be at my place for dinner, and they’d met and hit it off. It meant I’d lost my time with Channa because they’d talked like they were long-lost friends. “Sorry, bro, gotta take her to meet the others.”

I tightened my hold when Maya tried to pull my woman away with a hand on her wrist. “How about I introduce my woman to the others?”

Maya quirked a brow. “Really? You want to come hang with the women where we’ll talk about our periods, pregnancy, and childbirth?”

I kissed Channa quickly and said, “I’ll come save you soon.”

They both laughed at me and left. Ruin cackled beside me. “Brother, you gave in too easy.”

“Like to see you put up a fight when women talk about that shit.”

He snorted. “I doubt they would be.” We shared a look. “Then again, you never know with women and their brains.”

“Exactly,” I said. I nodded towards the bar. “Come get a drink with me.”
