Corruption - Leigh Lennon Page 0,68

is my female bodyguard who takes the Saturday shifts, staying at the house with me or taking me out shopping because Saturday is the busiest day of the week for Maddox at the club.

We’ve fallen into quite the routine, a very easy routine, because loving Maddox is the easiest thing I’ve ever done.

Cady drops me off at the club at six p.m. on a Saturday night, escorting me into the facility. We say our goodbyes when the strong arms of Maddox surround me, and he slides his lips up and down my neck.

My gaze swings to the stage where a couple is performing an early scene. It’s a male sub with his female Mistress. She is performing fire play on him, and my eyes widen. I can’t look away from the eye-catching performance.

Maddox physically twists my attention toward him. “Do you like that?” I can’t speak because it really is intoxicating to watch. “By the way, you’re gorgeous tonight.” I have on a simple black dress, nothing dungeon worthy, but it’s what Maddox had hanging up for me behind the door, along with a new pair of Louis Vuittons in a deep purple, matching the simple choker he placed on my neck almost a month ago.

He twirls me around to him. Maddox is always in a suit and tie, but when my eyes rest on him, he’s not in his normal everyday suit, but in something that screams fancy and elegant.

“Wow, Master. You clean up very nice, very dapper,” I tease. He twirls me around.

“Let me take in every little curve of yours, gem! You’re so beautiful.”

I narrow my eyes on him, and the familiar face of Anton appears behind him, coming up to me and enveloping me into a hug. “What are you doing here?” I ask.

“Something came up, and I thought I’d come by and see this jerk.” Anton hasn’t shared with Maddox about his lady issues, but for me, it’s not hard to figure out why he keeps coming back to Seattle. I keep this to myself and wonder how in the world my astute and smart boyfriend hasn’t caught on yet.

“So I’m taking over for your man, and he can take you out on a proper date.” Anton is a good-looking man; his Latino features with his olive skin are the only difference between him and Maddox.

“Well, I’m a lucky girl then, aren’t I?” I reply, and he pulls me into a side hug when I rub his chest.

“Yeah, gem, let’s get you out of here.” And with this, I turn my head and wave at Anton, taking my man’s hand and following him wherever he leads.

The valet meets us at the upscale Beau ou Belle Lumiere, and we’re escorted to our table right away. “What sort of connections do you have to get us into this restaurant?” I ask when the waiter brings us our drinks and doesn’t bat an eye at my youthfulness when he pours me a glass of Chardonnay. In the past month, I’ve not gotten accustomed to the red wines, but Maddox swears he’ll turn me. And though a Chardonnay is drier than I normally drink, it’s quite the treat to enjoy it out in public with my man.

“Yeah, I know the owner.” Of course he does. And though this restaurant is well out of my price range, growing up everyone had heard of the exquisite Beautiful Light, as we all called it because we had seemed to butcher the French pronunciation. It overlooks a good portion of the Seattle skyline.

They set us away from all the other guests, and it’s just the two of us at the moment. Our interests are not merely based on the same kink we love but in each other, too. He’s an avid reader, having his mother instill this in him at an early age. We love the classics The Great Gatsby, 1984, The Catcher and the Rye, Moby Dick, Fahrenheit 451, and The Tale of Two Cities to name a few we’ve discussed.

“Probably one of my favorite books of all time is Slaughterhouse Five.” I bring the glass to my lips, and his eyes widen.

“Your parents were okay with you reading that book?”

I let out the littlest giggle. “Oh, no, never. And like most things, Tori had to sneak it to me. Along with other Vonnegut books. I mean, if I was going to read, I was going to read the stuff I wanted to.”

He reaches across the table, threading his fingers with mine.
