Corruption - Leigh Lennon Page 0,38

I address one more thing.

“You’ll be my sub, and I want you as my partner, but with this, I will stretch you; I will push you. There’s a time when you’re allowed to be honest with me, and a time when you’ll submit. It will be obvious to you, but I have to understand you’re okay with this.”

It’s her turn to caress my cheek. “Sir, as I said, it’s always been you. As long as I’m yours, I’m okay with anything.”

This is the answer I’ve wanted, and with that, I pull her into my embrace, and after one last peck on the forehead, she leaves to fulfill her last day of work at the dairy farm, and come tomorrow, she’ll be all mine.

I’ve called Jay from the road, instructing him to schedule a face-to-face for me with Danner. I want to disconnect all association with him and my gem. Yeah, I’m not making any move with her until all ties are cut between these two.

Pulling into the club, I recognize all the cars except a bright red Corvette. “The man is overcompensating with a car like that,” I say out loud to myself, exiting my Camaro. I’m not out of the car before Jay meets me in the parking lot.

“Heads-up, boss,” he begins, “he’s under the impression this has to do with Jewel.”

I narrow my eyes in on him. “It does have to do with Jewel. I told you, she’s not choosing him. And I’ll break the news.”

He rubs his chin, a grimace taking over his face. “I get that. But I’m under the impression he thinks this is about Ms. Atkins wanting to sign a contract. I was very clear you needed to chat with him, but he keeps insisting she’ll be here. He’s in the main club.”

I slide my hands through my hair, a nervous habit I have. It’s not that I’m nervous, but this man has his heart set on my gem, and who knows how the fuck he’ll react. “Do you need me with you? This is a part of my job, to ease the strain when our pairings don’t quite work,” Jay reminds me.

“Nah, I got myself into this situation, and it’s my fucking fault I’m up a fucking creek without a fucking paddle.”

“Um, if you insist, but I won’t be far from you in case it gets heated.” I think he’s about to continue when his goofy grin stays on his face. “So, now that you finally did it, how does it feel?”

I know he wants me to tell him he was right. He knows he was right, as was Chadwick, Anton, Jared, and Greer. But I don’t have to admit shit. “Nice try, fucker. But, yeah, Jewel being mine is…”

“Okay, I get it. I just didn’t want you to regret it. And congrats.”

As I take in a long, cleansing breath, I don’t relish the idea of taking Danner’s dream girl from him, but since his dream girl is mine, too, I’d rather be on the winning team than the losing team—poor son of a bitch.

I make my way into the club, and the first sorry son of a bitch I see approaching me in three long strides is Anton. “Do you need me?” He’s a loyal friend, and maybe now that I have my shit straightened out, I can be there for him.

“Nah, I got this. I got myself in this situation, so I’ll find my way out of it.”

He hitches one eyebrow a tad bit higher. “But here’s the thing, brother, you don’t have to be alone. We got your back, no matter what fucked-up decision you’ve made in the past.”

I shrug. “I’ll tell you what. How about you just stay close?”

“Sounds good, and by the way, congratulations. You deserve it, brother. And the sooner you understand that, the sooner you’ll understand true happiness.”

I let out a loud, hysterical chuckle. “When did you become a monk?” He gives me a light slug on the upper arm and walks away, laughing at us both.

Danner isn’t far from me when Anton moves his large ass body. Drake stands in a suit just as expensive, if not more, than the one I have on. A smile broadens his face as he looks behind me. He must really think Jewel is on her way.

“Thanks so much for calling me. I didn’t know the club manager dealt with submissive contracts.”

Jay hadn’t been kidding. “Well, actually, Mr. Danner, I don’t oversee submissives in this way. I only get
