access. Though I knew that he’d never been with anybody but me, he didn’t seem hesitant or unsure as he ran his hands from my waist to my hips, pulling me to him. There was a restrained violence to him, a desperation that vibrated from him to me.
I loved it.
I pressed closer to him, the hardness of his desire touching my belly. His low groan vibrated through me.
I want him.
His strength. His heat. His love.
I couldn’t have the latter, but I could have the first two. And right now, when I wanted to forget every difficult thing ahead of us, it was the perfect thing.
In a rough voice, he murmured, “I’ve never wanted anything as much as I want you.”
A shiver raced down my spine.
“Then have me.” I pulled back slightly and fumbled with the clasps of his cloak. The fastening resisted my attempts. Reaching up, he removed it in seconds, and the heavy fabric slithered to the floor.
His gaze met mine, the heat so intense it burned. “Do you mean it?”
I nodded frantically. “I do.”
A low noise sounded in his throat, and his eyes flashed with dark desire. He picked me up as if I weighed nothing, and I wrapped my legs around his waist and my arms around his neck. He buried his head against the crook of my shoulder and breathed deeply of my scent, then strode to the bedroom.
When he set me down in front of the massive bed, the fire in his eyes seemed forcibly banked. Tension tightened his shoulders.
“What’s wrong?”
“I don’t want to hurt you.” His hand trembled slightly as he reached out to cup my jaw. “I just feel…almost out of control.”
“I’m not breakable.” I pulled my shirt and bra over my head in one fell swoop.
His pupils dilated, his eyes turning to pools of black as he stared down at me. “I’ll stop if you say it. But there are plants by the bed.”
I glanced over, realizing what he was saying.
I believed him when he said he’d stop—not that I’d ever ask him to—but he was telling me that I could use the plants as a weapon if I needed to.
“Why are they there?” I asked.
“They made me feel like you were near.”
The words made a crack appear in my heart.
“Now, come here.” He picked me up and tossed me on the bed, climbing over me with a lethal grace that made my heart thunder.
“Need to taste you.” The words were torn from his throat, and he quickly divested me of the rest of my clothes.
Once I was fully naked, he leaned over me, pressing kisses to my neck. Heat blazed a trail down my body as his mouth traced the topography of my curves. His hands ran up my sides, and it felt as if he were attempting to memorize me.
I gasped when his mouth reached my center, sensation building within me. He kissed me like he would die if he couldn’t taste all of me, gripping my hips to keep me still. I reached down and clutched his hair as the exquisite pleasure coiled tight within me.
Hades
Seraphia’s scent surrounded me, her taste making my mind spin. I couldn't get enough of her. She’d intoxicated me with her beauty and her softness, her kindness, and her fire.
And now she was naked beneath me, spread out like a feast that was mine alone. I ran my hands up her sides, reveling in the smoothness of her skin against my palms. A frenzy overtook me as I lapped at her, and I moved my hips against the bed, dying for some relief from the agonizing pleasure.
When she arched beneath me and cried out, her hands tightening in my hair, satisfaction surged through me. Desperation caught me tight.
I needed to feel her against my skin. Deep in my heart, I knew this was the best thing that would ever happen to me. The purest pleasure.
I wouldn’t be able to hold onto it forever. Wouldn't be able to hold onto her forever. She was as bright as a shooting star, and they didn’t last.
But I had it for now, and I was going to feel it all.
I rose above her, tearing my shirt off until my skin was revealed. She lay spread out in front of me, so gorgeous that it almost hurt to look at her. Her cheeks were flushed and her eyes glowed with heat.
Nearly shaking, I climbed off the bed and divested myself of the rest of my clothes, standing fully nude
