inside,” I reassure him. “It’s just things, and it doesn’t matter. We can wait for the police.” He pulls me into him and my head rests on his chest as he holds me close.
“What is it taking them so long?” Shaw growls, and I feel a smile tug my lips. I really shouldn't be smiling at a moment like this, but his overprotective attitude is sweet and sexy.
“I hung up two seconds ago.” I poke his side.
“There’s nothing else going on around here. They should get here fast.”
“I heard they had to wrangle two criminals a few hours ago. They might be tired,” I tease, trying to lighten the mood. I’m thinking it’s Missy getting back at us. This is extreme for a broken car window and they don’t really have proof it was us.
“Are you going to tell me about that?” I look up at him. “I’m guessing whatever you did had to do with Missy if you think she broke into your place.”
“Oh look, the cops are here.” He keeps on staring down at me because the cops aren't here yet. “I would like to speak to my attorney.” I fight a smile, trying to keep my face serious.
“You think I can’t get it out of you?” His hand tangles in my hair and he tilts my head back. His hold on me is firm and I let out a whimper. I’m looking forward to him getting it out of me.
If the car ride was only a taste of what’s to come, I know it’s going to be wonderful. I might end up breaking the law regularly.
“Promise?” I lick my lips and Shaw’s hard length presses into my stomach. It’s like he hadn’t just cum inside me minutes ago. He’s ready all over again and so am I.
Red and blue lights flash against the back of the store as two cop cars pull up. I’m ready to get this over with so we can get back to Shaw having his way with me. I’m going to enjoy his interrogation a whole lot more than the one Kayla’s dad gave us. Kayla’s dad told us to keep our mouths shut then spent the rest of the time talking about responsibility and character to Kayla.
It was hard for Kayla to keep her mouth closed, but whenever she tried to open it I’d poke her in the side. Her dad would give me a silent thank you before launching back into his tirade.
Shaw gives me a quick kiss and I wrap myself around his arm as the cops step out of the car.
“Let us do a quick sweep before you try and go in,” one of them says before both enter through the back.
We wait silently but it’s only a quick second before they’re coming back out.
“No one is in there but a sleeping cat.” Of course Romeo is sleeping. “The place is a mess.” Clarence gives me an apologetic look. “I’m going to start filling out the paperwork. You can go have a look if you want.”
I untangle myself from Shaw, but he snatches my hand. His fingers lock with mine, telling me I’m not going anywhere without him. I nod and we walk in together through the back storage area. It looks the same, but as we enter the shop I see books have been pushed off the shelves. They don’t look destroyed—more ransacked than anything.
“I’m going to pack you a bag,” Shaw tells me as Clarence comes back in with us so he can fill out the paperwork. He walks around and I watch Shaw walk toward the back again. I see him motion to one of the cops to follow him and they go upstairs together.
“I don’t think Missy would do this.” I sit down in one of the oversized reading chairs and Clarence takes the other across from me.
“Did you go upstairs?” he asks.
“No.” I shake my head, starting to stand.
“Let's do this.” He taps on his clipboard and I drop back down in the chair.
The faster I get this over with, the faster they are gone. I still can’t help but think he’s hiding something from me, but I answer his questions anyway.
“So, Missy is the only person you have a problem with?”
“That I’m aware of. I mean, some people don’t care for my store.” I look over at all the books on the floor.
“But you broke her car window?”
“No,” I snap, glaring at Clarence.
“Had to try.” He shrugs his shoulder.
It’s not a Iie because
