Billionaire Ghost Tour - Stephanie Fowers Page 0,8

other.”

They had no choice. Janson wasn’t supposed to lose his bodyguards for a second. Securing and inspecting a taxi for potential threats would take too long. Janson slapped his friend on the back before nodding at his men. “We’ll make do.” Rosa scooted over the bench seat to the middle while Janson’s bodyguards climbed over the seats. To their credit, they grumbled out no complaints as they crunched in together, looking like two oversized toddlers in the back seat. Aaron and Janson got in on opposite sides, sandwiching Rosa in the middle of them. She cracked a smile. “Every girl should be jealous of me at this moment.”

Aaron’s eyes narrowed mischievously over at Janson. “Maybe just one woman.”

Wait? What woman was that? “You’d better be talking about your girlfriend,” Janson said. He’d never seen Aaron so in love, and even after just a month of dating Charlize. Janson wouldn’t be surprised if they made it official soon.

Aaron lifted a brow, making Janson wonder if he was trying to hint at someone else. The engine purred to life as Aaron pulled them away from the airport, anything but discreet with that grin of his. He couldn’t possibly be talking about that redhead he’d given a million bucks to buy Janson at that bachelor auction last month.

“Who is this woman?” Unbelievably, Rosa joined in on the joke. She cuddled closer to Janson like she always did before declaring them best friends. “Are you saying I have competition for you in Eureka Springs?”

“No, the opposite,” Janson said. “If it’s who I think Aaron is hinting at, she hates me.”

Rosa’s eyes flared with anger. “Who could hate you?”

Before he could ask to change the subject, Aaron added more fuel to the fire. “Exactly! I think you should bury the hatchet with ‘Red.’ Rent out Mollie’s Ghost Tours for the night and get a private tour.”

Rosa let out an excited shriek. “Ghost tours? What is this wonderful thing I hear? I love such things.”

No, no, no, that was a very bad idea. The last thing he wanted to do was endure pointed barbs from Mollie all night while trying to impress Rosa. He tried to tell himself that was the reason... not that he found Red fascinating. “Absolutely not.”

“Oh please, please!” Rosa covered his cheek with playful kisses. “Buy out a tour for just the two of us.”

“And for two bodyguards.” Somehow Aaron’s joking voice penetrated the sound of Rosa’s kisses. Janson glared at him.

“We must do this thing.” Rosa pulled back and smoothed back Janson’s hair. “And you must protect me. I will be so frightened.”

He felt himself giving in. Her liquid brown eyes were almost doe-like as she pled with him. “You sure, Rosa?”

“Yes, and we will do it Friday. The day before Halloween!”

Sure, whatever, as long as he found something romantic to do with her after they met up with that wildcat. A memory of stormy blue eyes made his lips curl up without his permission, and he forced whatever ridiculous spell Mollie had over his heart to back down. That fiery redhead made an impression—mostly bad. Yeah bad. He’d do well to remember that.

He groaned and snatched Rosa’s hand, partly to keep her from messing up his hair further, partly for strength. “Okay, let’s rent ourselves a ghost tour guide.”

He tried to ignore Aaron’s smug look.

CHAPTER THREE

Mollie stared into the mirror in the back room at work, a giggle tickling her mouth. Her friend had followed through on her promise to do that makeover. The famous Lily O’Brien had returned from New York and was having lunch at Amigo’s with an old flame when Mollie had the pleasure of serving their table.

Lily had her own cosmetic line now, which hadn’t surprised Mollie in the least, though she had to be an idiot and tease Lily about that disastrous makeover she’d given Mollie for prom. Lily was beside herself and wanted a do-over. Well, she’d gotten it.

Mollie sighed and tried to tame her wild mane of hair. Anyone else would be thrilled to have the famous Lily O experiment on their “unusual features,” but Mollie never wanted anyone to look too closely at her. She’d rather disappear. Her red hair made that impossible, and for now, so had Lily.

Mollie would attract quite a few second looks working her ghost tour tonight. Her eyebrows looked incredibly dark; her lashes were fake long, her cheeks brighter than what she was used to, and that lipstick? Mollie loved to play with different reds, but Lily
