The Big O - Nelle L'Amour Page 0,57

shout out together.

Marge loves our two children as much as Olive and I do. Cashing in on her stock options, she retired from running the original Donut King shop. It’s now managed by two former Starbeans employees, who lost their jobs when the Starbeans next door went out of business. It was fortuitous for us because we took over the lease and got to expand our flagship store. And man, did we need to do that with the lines of customers eager to get a donut and coffee to start their day. Nathan is now my Director of Marketing, filling the shoes Mallory once wore. She’s now wearing a prison uniform and serving a life sentence. Neither my princess nor I have to ever worry about her again.

“Hi, Marge,” comes the sweetest voice in the world. My Olive. The woman who was my salvation. My princess. Who brought me success and gave me so much more. She rules my heart, my soul, my body and my mind. She doesn’t know it, but she owns me. The love I have for her is immeasurable.

“I put a bag together for the kids. Some sweatshirts and snacks along with a few toys and books to keep them occupied in the car.”

She joins us at the door and hands the small canvas bag to Marge after giving her a hug.

“Congratulations, hun,” says Marge after thanking her. “Owen told me.”

“Thanks!” A bright smile lights up my princess’s face. She’s glowing as she should be. Another little munchkin will be joining our family at the end of the year. We’re keeping it a surprise. Olive thinks it’ll be a girl; I think a boy. It doesn’t really matter; I’ll love him or her the same. With everything I’ve got.

“Let’s go already,” huffs my little man, who’s inherited my bossiness. One day I will hand him my crown and he’ll be the Donut King. But that’s not going to be for a while. I plan to be around for a long time and enjoy every minute of my children growing up.

I give a big smoochie kiss to Molly and set her down. Olive hugs the kids goodbye and tells them to be good.

Smiling, I wrap my arm around her as we watch our adorable little ones clamber into Marge’s car, me waving and Olive blowing kisses. The car pulls away and suddenly the house is quiet—something that’s rare these days.

“I miss them already,” laments my princess.

“Don’t worry, they’re going to have fun.”

“What should we do, Mr. King?”

There’s only one pressing thing on today’s agenda.

I’m going to give Mrs. King the biggest O she’s ever had.

Something to write about…

Welcome to my new blog, all you lovelies!!

Gosh! What a crazy, wonderful few years this has been for me!

I’m O-verwhelmed by all your love and support and truly can’t thank you enough. Every heartfelt email, tweet, and Facebook message has meant the world to me and just know I’ve responded to each and every one of them personally.

So many of you have asked me if I will be pursuing an acting career. The answer is no. I’ve had many offers, including one to be the spokesperson for Gloria’s Secret latest line of plus-size lingerie and another to co-star with my idol, Melissa McCarthy, in her new movie. I’ve had to turn them all down. The truth is, my possessive hubby doesn’t want to share me with the world. But the bigger truth is I have more important things in my life to do.

I’m on a mission. I want every woman—and little girl—who thinks she’s overweight to know that she’s big, beautiful, and special. That she’s worth her weight in gold. I’m funneling my acting skills into public speaking engagements, which will range from presentations at schools and youth groups to appearances on talk shows. I hope you caught me on Good Morning, America the other day. My message is a BBW can land her Prince Charming. Trust me, I did. Beauty is only skin deep. There are lots of layers to us big, beautiful women, inside and out. We may have porcelain skin, twinkly eyes, dazzling smiles, and lustrous hair. Our boobs are bountiful and our bodies are sweet and inviting. But the one thing that can make you even more beautiful is your big, beautiful heart. Both an open one that can accept people for who they are and an altruistic one that can cherish and give back unconditionally. That’s what landed me my prince. In fact, I landed
